A TALE UNRIVALLED
When the Shepherds rode the Horses The world succumbed to their thunder When the slaves were the Bosses Mighty empires transfixed in shock and wonder As in deserts and valleys Likewise in cities and villages Resigned prosperity and peace, wherein vice was torn as under Bestowed with equal dignity were Misters and Misses; Lives and Properties safe from devastations and plunder Equal was justice for the peasants as well as the princes Even the king on his folly would be made to surrender This is not a story narrated in history classes Nor is this a lullaby sang for children so tender Neither is this from the poet’s wild fantasies. This is a tale unrivalled, standing among the ruins in splendor Of piety, gallantry and devotion In it lies lessons a plenty, for us to engender. SUBMITTED BY SALIH |
